Please support our efforts by collecting and donating used cloth diapers for orphanages in Haiti

We have been very saddened to hear that due to the recent earthquakes in the Port Au Prince area of Haiti , many of the orphanages Happy Heiny's has worked closely with over the last few years have been completely devastated. Through the years they have not only sent them diapers and clothing for babies but also toys and help with food.

Happy Heiny’s works closely with missionaries who actually travel to the orphanages and personally bring donations to the babies in need. They have opted to work this way because sadly they have found that when attempting to donate directly the goods do not always arrive to the proper place due to civil unrest. With this recent devastating series of earthquakes there are already many requests for donations to the Red Cross and other aid organizations. Unfortunately, many orphanages are on the outskirts of town and tend to receive less–if any–help.

These orphanages are now in dire need of new/good condition used reusable diapers. By providing them with reusable diapers we are ensuring that a baby who has just learned to sit is not placed on a toileting pot for 10-12 hours per day in order to prevent messes, or left in the same dirty diaper all day long.

We are asking for donations of used, but good serviceable condition cloth diapers of any kind and brand (prefolds, fitteds, covers, pockets, AIO, etc). If you would like to make a donation of diapers please bring your donation as quickly as possible to:

If you do not have diapers to donate, but would like to make a financial contribution it would also be much appreciated! Diaper Lab will be contributing the costs of shipping the used diapers to Happy Heiny's in California. Any direct financial donations will be sent to Happy Heiny's to help them send additional new diapers and infant clothing as well as to cover shipping costs and costs of extra luggage for those who are flying out to Haiti.

Donations by Cash or Check may be made in person at Diaper Lab.

You can also send funds directly to Happy Heiny's through paypal to: lbyerline@cox.net. Please be sure to clearly mark the payment in the subject box as “Donation for Orphanages in Haiti” and select the personal option for sending the money so no extra charges are applied. All funds collected will solely be used for purchasing new items and the costs of shipping. Any remaining funds will be directly donated to those in need.

Diaper Lab will be packing and shipping boxes of used diapers ASAP. We will also be donating additional funds and diapers from our gently used section as well. Thank you for helping us to carry on our mission to insure that as many babies as possible have dry cloth on their bottoms, clean clothes to wear, and food in their belly.
