Diaper Lab Sponsors new "Diaper it Forward" Discussion List. (June 30, 2010)

As the number of cloth diapering families in the Boston areas has grown, we felt there was a need to create a discussion group for local-area families to connect and ask questions of other families and cloth diaper advocates. So we welcome everyone to join the new "Diaper it Forward" Google Group/E-mail List.

We are lucky to have customer-turned-employee Leigh Peters-Fransen serving as our list moderator and facilitator from her new home in Chicago, to help keep everything on-topic and encourage an active conversation amongst everyone. As we want to keep this a group discussion list, we'll keep the advertising (from us and others) down to a bare minimum. So come join the conversation! We look forward to hearing more from you.

Diaper Lab will be exhibiting at D2E, Boston's sustainable living expo, April 9-11 at the Hynes Convention Center in the Back Bay. Diaper Lab teams with Happy Heiny's to Collect and Distribute Cloth Diapers to Haiti

Diaper Lab is partnering with cloth diaper manufacturer Happy Heiny's, who has worked previously with orphanages in Haiti, to provide donations of new and used cloth diapers to children in orphanages in the quake-ravaged outskirts of Port Au Prince Haiti. Diaper Lab will be accepting donations of used cloth diapers to send to Happy Heiny's, who will work with their existing network of contacts in the region to insure timely and effective distribution of diapers to the orphaned children. Now Stocking Slings, Carriers, and Wraps! (September 29, 2009)

After a great trip to the annual ABC Kids show in Las Vegas, we've come home with a great line of new products for babywearing! We're really excited to be bringing in a great selection from Moby Wraps, Baby Hawk, and Massachusetts-based Sakura Bloom! If you've been into our store you know a few of our staff are regular babywearers, and store manager Laura Hodgson is a leader of the local Boston Babywearers group, so we'll be able to provide expert assistance to you. Our order of beautiful linen and silk wraps from Sakura Bloom just came in today, and Moby and Baby Hawk will be here soon!

New Cloth Diaper Brands Coming (September 29, 2009)

Are you ready to see even more exciting products at Diaper Lab? We've listened to your requests and are pleased to add a number of great new cloth diaper brands to our already extensive product lines! For those who love wool, hemp, and other natural and organic fibers, we'll now be stocking products from Play All Day, Little Beetle, and Organic Caboose. We're also incredibly excited to be adding Blueberry and Swaddlebees diapers, which we have been looking forward to all summer long. We think you'll love the Swaddlebees eco-nappi onesize and we've really been loving our Blueberry trainers at home. Diaper Lab Annual Summer Clearance Sale, August 20-22!

Diaper Lab Closed For Vacation, August 23-31st

To recover from our big summer sale and allow for well-deserved vacations, Diaper Lab will be closed from Sunday, August 23rd through Monday, August 31st. We will reopen for normal business hours on Tuesday, September 1st and hope to see everyone again in the fall (after we see you at our clearance sale, of course!)

Welcome To Our New Website (July 27, 2009)

If you've been to our website before, you've certainly noticed that we now have a new design! Thanks to the great efforts of Andy at Truly Good Design, we've freshened up our look and made a few adjustments to make it easier to find directions, view store hours, and learn about Diaper Lab. We've also added a new list of local links, and live feeds from Facebook and Twitter. We hope you like what we've done and welcome any feedback or ideas for things you'd like to see on the site.

Now Stocking Baby Beehinds! (July 5, 2009)

Diaper Lab is now a retailer for Baby Beehinds diapers! We have an excellent selection of their covers in both wool and PUL, as well as their one-size fitted diaper, in both bamboo and hemp. We think you'll like all of these great products—we've become big fans of the brightly colored wool covers for our two diaper testers at home! We have them in stock in the store, and will be adding them online soon.

Diaper Lab Closed July 3rd – 6th for Fourth of July Holiday

Diaper Lab will be closed on Friday July 3rd and Saturday for the Fourth of July Holiday. We will reopen for our usual store hours on Tuesday, July 7th.

Beginning June 1st, Diaper Lab will have new store hours. We will now be open on Wednesdays, and later on Friday and Saturdays, though we will no longer be open on Sundays. Our new hours are:

Diaper Lab Holiday Hours—Open on Sundays and Mondays!

Thanksgiving Week Hours (November 24, 2008)

Diaper Lab wants to thank all of our customers and friends for joining us last weekend for our Grand Opening Celebration. We had a great turnout, and were thrilled to welcome so many people who are as excited about cloth diapers as we are, as well as those who were curious but not sure where to start. We gave away $1,000 in products and services which had been donated by our vendors and local merchants and want to thank all of them for their support as well.

Diaper Lab Grand Opening Celebration Scheduled for Saturday, November 15th (November 1, 2008)

Diaper Lab will celebrate the opening of our new store with a Grand Opening Celebration on Saturday, November 15th from 10am to 4pm. We will be having cloth diaper demonstrations, activities for families and kids, and over $1000 in product raffles! More details coming soon!

Diaper Lab is now open at 201a Highland Avenue, Somerville, MA! (October 13, 2008)

A few of you have already stopped by to see our new retail location in Somerville, but if you've been waiting, wait no longer! Though we are still assembling a few more things from Ikea and working on the final set-up, we are open for business and ready to show you the best in modern cloth diapers. We are still planning a grand opening celebration in early November, so look for a date here in the near future!

Our current hours are Tuesday 10am to 6pm; Wednesday 1pm to 6pm; Thursday 10am to 7pm; Friday 10am to 6pm; and Saturday 10am to 3pm. We are closed Sunday and Monday.

Diaper Lab is Moving! (September 30, 2008)

With so much outpouring of interest in the new cloth diapers, and a storefront opportunity we couldn't resist, Diaper Lab is making the move to our very own retail shop at 201a Highland Avenue in Somerville. Our new location is near the Somerville Hospital and only a short distance from our old location at Twinkle Star! To help keep our expenses low we are relocating immediately, and we will be open for business on Friday October 3rd.

If you are desperate for an extra diaper before Friday, we can probably ring you up at the new location, but please call us at 617-851-8465 to make sure we're there first!

We look forward to seeing you in our new location after this Friday, and be certain to watch for an announcement of a big event in a few weeks to celebrate our move!

E-mail and Shopping Cart Outages (September 25, 2008)

[UPDATED 9/30] Because of the move to our new retail location, we don't expect to have online shopping back in service until Monday October 6th. However, if you are in the area, come join us starting Friday, October 3rd at our new retail location!

Wondering why you haven't heard from us recently? We've been having some serious technical difficulties recently, and have moved to a new hosting provider to address the situation. Luckily we will have e-mail back soon, but it will take us a bit longer to get our shopping cart back on-line.

New Product Offerings (September 14, 2008)

While attending the gigantic ABC Kids Expo in Las Vegas Diaper Lab was able to add several new vendors and products! We are excited that we will soon have diapers from Bummis, Kissaluvs, Rump-a-roos, and Bumkins.

We know many of you have been asking for Bummis and Bumkins, and we are very excited to be able to offer the fantastic wraps and covers from each. Kissaluvs is known for having a great fitted diaper for newborns which we will be stocking, and we are very excited by the Rump-a-roos one-size diaper which has been getting excellent reviews! All of our products are on order and we expect to see them in the next few weeks, so check back to see when they arrive on the shelves!

Extended Fall Hours (September 14, 2008)

Diaper Lab returns from vacation with new extended hours! We will now have a cloth diapering consultant available to talk with you Tuesday through Friday from 10 am to 6pm, with a late night on Thursdays when we will be open until 8pm. We will also be open on Saturdays from 9am to 3pm. Diaper Lab will be closed on Sundays and Mondays. We look forward to seeing you soon!

Diaper Lab Vacation Schedule, 8/30 to 9/12 (August 24, 2008)

Salina and family will be on a much needed vacation from August 30th thorough September 12th. But fear not, you'll still be able to shop!

• Diaper Lab at Twinkle Star will be staffed during our new fall hours (10-6 Tuesday - Friday, 10-3 Saturday), and we've been getting Ann and Ariella (who you may have already seen at the shop) up to speed on all things cloth.
• We won't be holding any extended consultations during this time, but our monthly workshop on the 13th is still scheduled.
• No delays are expected for online orders, so buy as much as you need and we'll be sure to get it out to you!

When we return in September we will also have updates on the latest cloth diapering products from the ABC Kids Expo (so it's not all vacation) and will be posting new fall hours. Check back for more updates!

Free monthly cloth diaper workshops start June 28th (June 16, 2008)

Diaper Lab will begin offering free cloth diapering workshops in June. In these informative hour-and-a-half sessions Diaper Lab owner Salina Gonzales Frazier will discuss the various cloth diapering options as well as laundering tips and caring for your diapers. Participants will have the opportunity to touch and feel all of the diapers in person as well as purchase items at the end of the workshop. The first workshop will be held on June 29th, with a full schedule posted on their website at http://diaperlab.com/visit/workshop.php

Diaper Lab opens retail location at Twinkle Star Boutique (June 2, 2008)

Diaper Lab is excited to announce the opening of our first retail location in the Boston area! We were lucky enough to be able to partner with the owners of the new Twinkle Star Baby Boutique in Ball Square, Somerville to provide area customers the largest retail selection of cloth diapers in the region. Cloth diapering products are available for sale whenever Twinkle Star is open, and we will have regular hours where a Diaper Lab diaper consultant will be available to talk about all of the great benefits of cloth diapers. One-on-one Diaper Lab consultations can still be scheduled for those interested in a personalized look at diapering options for their families.
