Inserts, Doublers, & Liners

Though used interchangably, there is a difference between Inserts, Doublers and Liners. Inserts are the absorbent part of a pocket diaper or the lay in absorbency used inside a wrap or cover. Doublers are designed to add absorbency or "boost" absorbency in your existing diapering system. Both inserts and doublers can be made of a number of different fabrics and absorbencies. Liners are intended just to "line" the top of your diaper to create a stay dry feeling, catch solids or for use when using diaper rash cream. Liners can be reusable or disposable. The reusable ones are often made of fleece or microchamois. The dispsoable liners are made of a very thin, biodegradable viscose.
