Experiment to Own Program

At Diaper Lab, we want to be certain that families find the cloth diapering solution that fits their baby and their lifestyle. We know it is a big commitment, and we want everyone to discover what diapers work best before making the full investment. That's why over 10 years ago, we created our unique Experiment to Own program.  It's everything we wish we had when we first began our cloth diapering journey.

This special offer is intended for babies who are 3 months or older and weigh 12 pounds or more. Prior to those milestones, our Newborn Cloth Diaper Rental package is likely to provide a better solution. When baby is outgrowing those newborn diapers and ready for the next size up, Experiment to Own is a great way to try before you buy.

When you Experiment to Own, for a rental fee of $35, you can try any 8 diapers from our online store. Mix and match prefolds, fitteds, covers, pockets, and all-in-one diapers as well as brands. "Experiment" with the diapers for two weeks and at the end of the trial period, keep the diapers you like, and return the rest to us!  Pay only for the diapers you choose to keep.  The day you return your program, if you purchase more than 200 in diapers that day, you will receive the entire $35 fee back as a credit.  That means it cost you ZERO to try cloth diapers!

The Experiment to Own Program Includes:

  • 8 new diapers (from instock colors, sizes, & brands - we will work with you over the phone or via email to help you choose)

  • Accompanying inserts for any pocket diapers or 2 piece systems

  • 2 hemp or bamboo doublers (for additional absorbency)

  • 1 Wet Bag (if needed)

  • Samples of cloth diaper laundry detergent(s)

  • Printed instructions for care, use and washing cloth diapers

  • Expert assistance via phone, email, messaging or in store while you "experiment"

Work with Diaper Lab staff over the phone or via email to choose the eight diapers you would like to try from available products in stock on our website.  Once you select your diapers, we will take down all of your contact information, you will be charged the $35 rental fee, and your credit card will be held on file. Use the diapers for two weeks and wash using the laundry soap provided. At the end of two weeks, keep the diapers you wish to purchase and return the diapers you no longer want.  

**All diapers, inserts, doublers, and pail liners must be returned clean and freshly laundered. A $20 fee will be assessed for each item returned dirty. Diapers must be returned to our store location or be postmarked and shipped by the due date on your receipt. Normal use, wear, and staining on returned diapers is acceptable, but a replacement fee will be assessed for any lost items or unusually harsh treatment of the returned diapers and accessories.
